I think one of the funniest movie scenes ever is when Macaulay Culkin's character gets killed by bees in "My Girl. Just hearing his lazy, disinterested voice limply calling out,"No. Get away! Get away bees!" is enough to make me crack up. Hell, I'm smiling as I type this! From the looks of this picture, the bees stung his lips first. "My Girl" sucks.

Crap, you're right, that IS one of the most hilarious scenes ever! All he does to "fight" is whine and say "no" and wave his skinny Culkin arms around a little. He deserved that death. I love how the scene ends: A slowed-down shot of his character's glasses falling into the leaves as some random bees fly around. Death by bees should happen in more movies. (Add this to the notebook we never update for our movie!)
EVIL... i came out of that movie completely bawling. of course i was 13 at the time. & i think it was the funeral part that made me cry, not the actual death. doesnt she make a big scene at the coffin? also, i always get my girl confused with the man in the moon for some reason. same dif, right?
She comes running into the funeral, crying,"His GLASSES! He needs his glasses!!!!" Waaaaah!
I think the movie made me cry too, but now it's one of those TBS Saturday afternoon movies, and I always turn it on in time to see Mac get his ass torn up by bees, or to see the scene where she gets her period.
I remember liking Man in the Moon, but now I'm completely blanking on what it's about! I remember thinking "Reese Witherspoon is so pretty!". Ah, young minds are gullible.
I still run around my house yelling "His glasses! He can't see without his glasses!" for no reason. I always feel kind of bad, but thanks to this post, I know now that I am not alone, and this makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. So thanks for that!
man in the moon is where reese witherspoon is growing up in the 50s i think? i seem to remember her being obsessed with elvis. she falls in love with this guy who starts swimming at her secret swimming hole but then he falls in love with her perfect sister & then he dies in a tragic farming accident.
i remember thinking reese witherspoon was gorgeous too & that she had even smaller boobs than me. of course, she was like 12 in the movie. she later got boobs (one way or another!) AND less pretty.
Yes I believe that in Man in the Moon, Jason London falls under the tractor blades right after bedding Reeses Witherspoon's older sexier sister. For the record, I bawled after My Girl, but it was My Girl 2 that turned me off to the whole idea. With that bootleg Culkin who, interestingly enough had a skater haircut but it was supposed to take place in the 60's. wtf?
