Last night I learned how to crochet a purse by following instructions to make an iPod cover, then just making it bigger. So far it looks really good, much better than I expected! Now I just wish I was home, camped out on the couch in my pajamas, working on my purse and listening to some good music. Instead I'm at work, fighting hunger pains since it's only 9:56AM, and that's too goddamn early to eat lunch. But right now I'd kill someone for a big bowl of Olive Garden's salad. If anyone wants to be my new favorite person, you can bring one to my office. Just ring the bell out front. I'll come out and meet you and we can share it. I'll even let you eat the pepperoncini's. Especially since I hate those.

I'd consider being the one to bring you a salad but I hate pepperocinis even more than I hate cancer.
I can bring you hope, goodwill and a feeling of inner peace, though! Want that?

hmm, i guess she DOESNT want that, since she didnt reply. what a weirdo.
trish, are the ipod case instructions only for crocheters? i want to learn how to knit one (an ipod cover, not a purse)... an easy one... im a shitty knitter. but i know NOTHING about crochet.

Ladies, ladies please!
I did want to reply (stupid blogger comments!!!), but I also am a WEIRDO!
Lisa- no spanks on the goodwill and hope and whatnot, I just had some for lunch. And just for the record, I hate pepperocinis more than I hate SIDS(Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).
K- I just learned how to crochet, but this pattern was prety easy to follow. Knitting, however, remains a mystery to me. Maybe when I move back east I can teach you crochet in exchange for knitting lessons. And Olive Garden salad of course.
Anyway, here's a link to the iPod cover instructions:

Good luck. And if you can't figure it out, then I'm sorry to say that I can't help you. No one can. Now get thee back to Special Ed.

K - there is an ipod cozy pattern for knitters in the Stitch n Bitch Handbook by Debbie Stoller. Looks pretty cool. I can knit the basics, but I think crochet is much easier.
Trish - By gum, I think you've got it! Thanks for the link to the article! I tried it last night and made a little pouch!! Silly me, trying to crochet in the round when this was there all along! Yipppeee!

my idea: crocheted underwear. It's perfect for wearing to graduation ceremonies. (but sew in a cotton crotch, for heaven's sake) I made this connection because the word crochet looks so much like crotch.

Ok, I'm not even kidding, but knitty.com has a pattern for edible underwear made of licorice whips. I am so tempted to make them, but I would probably just eat the damn things myself and that's pretty losery.
