Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, died on Monday. I can't believe it, I'm so sad. I've seen almost every episode of his show, and me and my friends in high school used to have parties just to get together and watch it. He was the greatest.
I guess to me it's just so surreal because he's the Crocodile Hunter! He can't die.
He was a good man, he will be missed.

It's kind of interesting how Americans latched on to Steve more than us Australians. A lot of us saw him as a bit of an embarassment to the country!
He was a good man though, he did a lot for animal conservation and the like. He was a good Aussie Icon I spose.
Just let it be put on the record though, when people think of how Australian's act and speak, I wish they'd copy Hugh Jackman or Nicole Kidman or Cate Blanchett ... and not just say "crikey".

Yeah I can see how that could get annoying. It's funny that in most articles about Steve Irwin they mention how he wasn't nearly as popular in Australia.
It's kind of the same with me being from New Jersey, if I tell one more person where I'm from and they say,"Oh, New JOISEY!" I'm gonna punch them in the throat.

I was saddened by this too. I liked the way he was involved with animals and the environment. Yeah he was a little kooked out, but it did not make him a bad person. And you know I agree with you about people making comments about New Jersey. I also hate when people who live here HAVE to like Bon Jerky or Bruce Sucksteen because they are from Jersey. It is really annoying.

I couldn't believe this story when I saw it on the news. It was one of those things I just didn't think I had heard correctly. I used to watch his show all the time too. I loved his passion for animals and the environment, and I learned a lot from his show too. I am so sad for his family. I keep thinking though, that while its horrible that he died, at least he died doing something that he loved to do. Steve Irwin, you will be missed.
